Mrs. John W. Williams of Caddo Mills died on Friday Night
Mrs. John W. Williams passed away in her home near Caddo Mills at 7:10 o’clock Friday night March 24.
Mrs. Williams nee Arizona Wilson, was born July 9, 1869, in Barry County, Missouri. She was married to John W. Williams July 31, 1881, who preceded her in death November 16, 1922.
To this union were born fifteen children, ten of whom survive. They are Harvey, Gilmer, Earnest, Lonnie and Lindsey of Caddo Mills; Oscar of Greenville; Oliver of Dallas; Mrs. Ester Roark of Ranger; Mrs. Mayme Bell of Levelland; Mrs. Odell Neely of Royce City. She is also survived by twenty-four grandchildren, one great grand child, three sisters, there half brothers and two half sisters.
Mrs. Williams had lived in Hunt County thirty-five years and for the past twenty years she had lived in the Paradise Community. She had been a member of the Baptist Church since young womanhood.
She had lived a devoted Christian life and was loved by all who knew her. She was an affectionate wife and mother. She was better known as “Grandma” to many friends. Her passing cast a gloom of sadness over the entire community, but we are glad to know that her soul is now at rest with the Savior.
Funeral services were held at the Paradise Baptist Church at eleven o’clock Saturday morning, conducted by Rev. F.M. Dean of Mesquite, assisted by Rev. John Wright of Greenville. Interment followed at Stone Cemetery.
