Sunday Rites for Mrs. Laura Rasor
Mrs. Laura Rasor, 82, died Friday night at the home of her daughter Mrs. Joe Pemberton, 912 Main Street. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Goff Chapel with the Rev. N D. Gilmore officiating.
Mrs. Rasor had been in failing health for serval months, and since the death of her husband March 14. the family had been concerned about her condition. Her death, however, was unexpected.
She was born Jan. 22, 1879, in Delta County and had lived near or in Commerce her entire life. Her parents were Tom and Lorane Littlepage Hamilton, both native Texans. She had been a member of the Baptist Church since early childhood. She married William P. Rasor, Aug. 29, 1897 in Commerce.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Pemberton, Mrs. Essie Walker of Houston, Mrs. Marie Door of Beaumont: one son, Ted Rasor of Lake Charles, La: three brothers, Fred Hamilton of Commerce, George Hamilton of Sweetwater, and Jess Hamilton of Fort Worth: one sister, Mrs. Beulah Edwards of Allen, Okla: six grandchildren: and three great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were R. E. Taylor, Bill Teague, Melvin Teague, R. E. Lilly, D. D. Dillingham, and J. P. Stewart.
Burial was in Rosemound Cemetery.
