GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — Nancy Pack Fell, 74, of Grand Island, Neb., formerly of Greenville, died Jan. 12, 2007, at St. Francis Medical Center. A memorial service is scheduled at 11 a.m. today at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Grand Island with the Rev. Catherine Kuschel officiating. Inurnment follow in the St. Stephens Columbarium. All Faiths Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Nancy was born April 13, 1932, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., the daughter of Andrew and Clara Wilson. She grew up and received her education in Buffalo, N.Y. She was married in May 1951 to Harold Whitney Fell Jr. She spent her adult years in New York, Texas and Nebraska and recently re-located to Grand Island, Neb.
She was an avid volunteer, always-seeking ways to help others. She was an active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Greenville. She also gave her time at the Women in Need shelter in Greenville and purchased hundreds of stuffed animals, sewed clothes for them and gave them away to the families at the shelter.
While in Grand Island, Nancy designed artistic cards “Hats by Nancy” to be sold at fundraisers with proceeds going to St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church Dominican Republican Mission Team.
Nancy was an artist who enjoyed working with pastels and most recently began working with mosaic glass. Her most treasured artistic moments included making crafts with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Family members left to cherish her memory are three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and David Stoddard of Grand Island, Nancy and Kevin Gilbert of Hedgesville, W.Va., and Elizabeth and Clifton Wise of Warrensburg, Mo.; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Shannon Fell and Bill Fell and Amy Kirkpatrick, all of Big Sandy.
Nancy was adored by 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; Jayson Stoddard and Nicholas Stoddard of Hastings, Neb., Sarah Hansen and her husband Jared of Grand Island, Robert French of Baltimore, Md., Jami Gilbert, Krystal Gilbert and Kevin Gilbert of Hedgesville, W.Va., Rachel Fell of Shreveport, La., Jacob Fell of Ore City, Wade Fell and Hannah Fell of Big Sandy, Kiersten Wise of Warrensburg, Mo., and Samantha Stoddard Hansen of Grand Island.
Her sister-in-law, Ruth Fell of Rochester, N.Y., as well as many faithful friends in Greenville will also fondly remember Nancy.
Memorials may be made to the Dominican Republic Mission Team in care of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Grand Island.
