WOLFE CITY — Nelda V. Laton, 71, of Commerce, died March 28, 2006, at Presbyterian Hospital of Commerce following an illness of several months. Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City with Rev. Bill Hazelip officiating.
Born June 25, 1934, in Dimmitt, she was the daughter of William Bryan and Virginia Williams Phillips. She was a greeter for Wal-Mart in Commerce, and she was a Baptist.
Survivors include a brother, Lee Phillips of Greenville; one sister, Ann Tolly of Fort Worth; niece Pat Forman; four nephews, Howard Wayne Baker, Jay Wayne Tolly, Toby Phillips and Terry Phillips; several great-nieces and nephews; two great-great-nieces; and numerous other relatives and friends. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home of Wolfe City was in charge of arrangements.
