Nona Frances Gibbs Shields
Irving--Nona Frances Gibbs Shields, 86, Watauga, died Tuesday, July 24, 2001. Services will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 26, 2001, at Brown's Memorial Chapel in Irving with Dr. Randy Rudisell officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
She was born on December 24, 1914, in Celeste, daughter of John W. Gibbs and Quinnie Mathews Gibbs. She was a 1932 Celeste High School graduate.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-nine years, Wayne Shields, of Watauga; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth Shields and Shirley Shields of Sanger and Jerry Shields and Denise Shields of Watauga; a daughter, Barbara White of Watauga; sister, Kathleen Wharton of Arlington; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
