Nora Mae “Grandma” Thumann, 86, of Cash died Feb. 6, 2007, in a local hospital. Services are at 11 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church of Cash with Rev. Larry Combs officiating. A private interment is at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Peters Funeral Home.
Mrs. Thumann was born March 15, 1920, in Oklahoma to Matthew and Rosie Brem Shelton. She resided with her son and daughter-in-law in Cash until recently moving to Briarcliff Health Care Facility where she called home for the past seven years.
She was a real estate broker and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cash.
Her survivors include her son, Carl E. Thumann Jr. and wife Carolyn of Cash; her daughters, Carolyn Coker and husband Marion of Bay City and Marie Balmain and husband, Emerson of Hooks; grandchildren Richard, Caren, Chantell, Steve, Eleisha, Terri, Judith, and Kerri; great-grandchildren Blake, Chase, Allana, Jordan, Carol, Ty, Taryn, Alyssa, Lexi, Sophie, Matthew, Melissa, Kylie, Danny, Billy, and Sara; a host of friends and relatives; and most of all her newfound family of caregivers at Briarcliff — she loved them all.
Her parents, four sisters, and two brothers preceded her in death.
Pallbearers are Carl Thumann, Richard Thumann, Steve Thumann, Blake Reames, Chase Thumann, and Ty Driggers with Emerson Balmain, Marion Coker, and Pete Busby acting as honorary pallbearers
