Pauline E. Ledbetter Daugherty
Pauline E. Ledbetter Daugherty, 89, of Celeste died Saturday, November 10, 2007, at Leonard Manor Nursing Home. Graveside services are at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 13, 2007, at Bethel Cemetery with the Rev. Samuel Glenn officiating and under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
Mrs. Daugherty was born December 6, 1917, in Greenville; the daughter of H.C. Ledbetter and Olive Wood Ledbetter. She was married to Truman Daugherty on October 16, 1938, in Greenville. She was a homemaker and a member of Peniel Baptist Church. Surviving are sons, Ed Holland of Quitman and Paul Daugherty of Tyler; daughters, Carol Kilgore of Lexington, Nelda Haney of Lincoln, Brenda Linton of Blue Ridge, and Phyliss Hamilton of Merit; brother, Joe Ledbetter of Greenville; sisters, Aline Pemberton, Florence Daugherty, Eulalia Torris, and Sylvia Spears, all of Greenville; twenty-seven grandchildren; seventy-three great-grandchildren; fifteen great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sons, Andrew Daugherty, James Daugherty, and Roger Daugherty; two sisters, Beatrice McCurdy and Elveda Irons; one brother, Clarence Ledbetter, and two grandsons, Bobby Haney and Michael Haney.
Pallbearers are James Daugherty, Raymond Daugherty, Allen Daugherty, Kevin Holland, Sean Linton, and Michael Hamilton.
Visitation is from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, November 13, 2007, at the funeral home.
