Polly Ann Sampson was born in Rankin County, Jackson, Miss., to the late Jame Carr Sr. and Eula Mae Booker on July 5, 1941. She departed this life and entered into her eternal resting place on Oct. 24, 2006, in Garland. Polly married the late Cleveland Sampson in 1957. She moved to New Orleans, La., in 1959 and remained there until August 2005. She leaves to cherish her memories are her sister, Mary (Curtis) Jenkins; a brother, Sylvester Carr; children Ruby Netters, Linda Faye and Ella Dee Sampson; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson Clifford Sampson. A funeral service is scheduled at 1 p.m. Thursday at Wesley Chapel C.M.E. Church in Greenville with Rev. Ronald Davis officiating. Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at Grace & Mercy Funeral Home of Greenville. Submitted by Elaine Nall Bay
