John William Pyle
John William (Bill), 76, prominent resident of Celeste for forty-five years, died Tuesday, April 6, 1948, at his home after an illness of two years. The Rev. Herman Mayo and the Rev. Harrison Baker of Dallas conducted the funeral service.
Mr. Pyle had lived in Celeste since 1903. He was in the insurance business and in real estate until his retirement. He served as president of the school boards in Celeste for many years, and was active in city affairs.
Mr. Pyle was married to Ora Henley on November 11, 1903. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. D. W. Taylor of McKinney; one grandchildren, David Taylor of McKinney; one brother, D. M. Pyle of Hugh, Oklahoma; a sister, Mrs. D. Patterson of Hugo, Oklahoma; and other relatives.
