James B. Raney
James B. Raney, retired mail carrier and widower, died on October 29, 1952, in Celeste at his home where he had lived for twenty years. He was born on July 23, 1874, in Kentucky, and was seventy-eight years, three months, and six days. The informant, J. D. Raney, did not know James' parents' names. Mr. Raney had suffered with hypertension for years. Dr. Kenneth R. Watkins had attended Mr. Raney from October 22, 1952 to October 29, 1952, and stated that death occurred at 1:25 PM. Burial was made October 30, 1952, at Leonard Cemetery, Leonard, Texas, with James-Coker-Peters in charge of arrangements.
