COMMERCE — Roy Leon Narramore, 77, of Commerce died Sept. 8, 2006, at his home. A private memorial service for the family is scheduled Wednesday with Brother Shannon Moreland officiating. The son of Robert E. Lee and Mary Samantha Hilton Narramore, he was born June 24, 1929, in Pittsburg, Texas. He saw active duty in the U.S. Army during the Korean war. He retired from working in the physical plant at Texas A&M University-Commerce and was a farmer. Mr. Narramore loved living on his farm and drinking coffee on his back porch. He enjoyed watching and caring for his cows and liked riding in his old Army jeep. Surviving are two sons, Steve Narramore and wife Babette and Mark Narramore and wife Holley, all of Commerce; two grandchildren, Marlena Narramore and Mason Narramore of Commerce; a sister, Juanita Zeigler of Troop; and a loyal farm cowdog, Blu. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Marshall Narramore, Gilbert Narramore and Howard Narramore; a sister, Marie Marchbanks; and one grandchild, Raymond Narramore. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home.
