Ruth Marie Reed, 65, of Quinlan, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, in a Greenville hospital.
Funeral serivces will be held at 1 p.m. today at Goggans Funeral Home in Quinlan with burial following at Arbala Cemetery.
Ruth was born in Gunter on June 29, 1941. She was the daughter of the late Raby Lee Phillips and Lena Estelle Ellis Phillips.
She worked in Rockwall Nursing Home as housekeeper and aide for more than 10 years. Ruth enjoyed playing slot machines and spending time with her family.
She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Reba Redmon, in 1961; her son, Troy Clark in 1994; two sisters, Georgia “Ann” Lee Thorne in 1996 and Juanita Tarrant in 1994.
She is survived by three sons, Bobby Redmon and his wife Karen of Gypsum Colo., Marvin Redmon of Quinlan and James Reed of Quinlan; two daughters, Cynthia Starr and husband Michael of Quinlan and Pam White and husband Mike of Quinlan; a sister, Shirley Fitzgerald of Quinlan; a brother, Robert Parker of West Tawakoni; 12 grandchildren, Melissa Mathews and husband Cliff of McKinney, Angela Starr of Allen, Amanda Starr and husband Josh of Allen, Destiny Starr of Quinlan, Joe White of Quinlan, Jerrod White of Quinlan, Courtney White of Quinlan, Amanda Clark, Lori Clark, Troy D. Clark Jr., Tina Boyd of Colorado and Billie Redmon of Quinlan; eight great-grandchildren, Dylan and Ashley Mathews both of McKinney and Michael Martinez, Devin Starr, Brandon Ambrose, Triston Vance, Dezyrae Grimard and Nevaeh Grimard all of Allen; her life-long friend Nancy (Long) Ishmal of Quinlan; and her two little dogs, Sissy and CoCo. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
