Sam A. Gibson
Sam A. Gibson, 76, died at 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 31, 1973, Sunday, in Garland.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, January 1, 1974, in the Celeste Methodist Church with the Rev. Ernest Walt and the Rev. Harold Staats officiating. Burial will be in Memoryland Memorial Park under the direction of Coker-Mathews-Peters Funeral Home.
Born in Hunt County on June 2, 1897, the son of F. M Gibson and Hattie Francisco Gibson, he was married to Elzada Baker on October 23, 1937, in Celeste. He was a member of the Methodist Church, a retired mechanic and farmer, and a veteran of World War I serving in the US Army.
Surviving, in addition of his wife, are two sons (sic), George Gibson of Ennis and Hobert Gibson of Greenville; and two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Owens and Mrs. Kate Keller, both of Greenville.
Pallbearers will be Cloyd Gibson, Ralph Gibson, Bill Baker, Ronny Baker, Spencer Sumrow, and Mackie Don Babers.
