Sharon Louise “Mickey” Mitchell was born April 15, 1957, to the late Emma Jean Steward and James C. Johnson in Paris. She attended Polytech High School of Fort Worth. In 1978 she married Craig Powell of Fort Worth. Relocating to Greenville in 1990, she departed this life on Feb. 2, 2006. Cherishing her memory are one son, Aundra Mitchell of Greenville; four daughters, Tajuna Powell and Crystal Powell of Greenville, Lucretia Powell of Commerce and Tashawna Powell of Fort Worth; a sister, Dolly Jean Miller of Greenville; brothers Mannie Mitchell of Dallas, James Mitchell of Paris, Clarence Steward of Greenville and Darrell Mitchell of Commerce; an aunt, Mary “Sister” Heath; and nine grandchildren. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at Wesley Chapel C.M.E. Church with Elder Michael C. Williams officiating. Burial followed at Grundy Memorial Park. Grace & Mercy Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
