Spencer Jerry Sumrow
Spencer Jerry Sumrow, 70, of Greenville, died the morning of June 6, 2007, at his residence.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 9, 2007, at Coker-Mathews-Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brian Bosworth and the Rev. Louise Banner Welch officiating. Burial will follow in Memoryland Memorial Park.
Visitation is from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, June 8, 2007, at the funeral home.
Son of Spencer Severe Sumrow and Pearl Skeeters Sumrow of Celeste, he was born on June 14, 1936, in Merit. He was a 1954 Celeste High School graduate. On January 20, 1983, he was married to Margie Robinson in Merit. Mr. Sumrow was an engineer at Dallas Power, retiring after thirty-seven years, and was an environmental specialist for Texas ECO. He was a member of Westview United Methodist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are his wife of Greenville; sons and daughters-in-law, Spencer T. Sumrow and Joyce Sumrow, Timothy W. Sumrow and Beth Sumrow, and Alex Tyson Sumrow, all of Greenville; a brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy Sumrow and Pam Sumrow of Celeste; grandchildren, Julie Sumrow Gatlin and husband Brian Gatlin of Mount Vernon, Jessica Sumrow and Jeremy Sumrow of Greenville, and C. K. Sumrow of Dallas; two nieces, Donja Sumrow Ivy of Carrollton and Molly Sumrow Dowlatshahi and husband Samee Dowlatshahi of Rockwall; and nephews, Paul Sumrow and wife Allison Sumrow of Parker and Greg Sumrow and wife Beverly Sumrow of Forney.
His parents and a brother, Jack Sumrow, preceded him in death.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Myers, Mark Stucks, John Wilson, Jerry Morrison, Joe Mintor, and Neal Parrott.
