Willard Stapleton
Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 22, 1954, at 10:30 AM at the Gray-Sorrells Chapel for Willard Stapleton, RR 5, Greenville, who died suddenly on Monday morning, September 20, 1954, following a heart attack.
The Rev. George Sagen, pastor of Washington Street Baptist Church, and the Rev. Chester A. Smith, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene, officiated and burial was in Memoryland Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Hub Huffaker, Freeman Eldridge, George Pickens, John Geesey, Clyde Powell, and Albert Graham.
Surviving are his wife; two brothers, Frank Stapleton and Ernest Stapleton of Jacksboro; three sisters, Mrs. John Hamrick Beard of West Virginia, Mrs. D. M. Routh of League City, Texas, and Miss Clara Stapleton of Greenville; and one half-sister, Miss Maud Stapleton of Celeste.
