Maggie W. Sullivan
Funeral services were held at Lane Methodist Church for Mrs. Maggie W. Sullivan who died at her home in Lane on Sunday evening, June 6, 1948.
She had been ill three months.
The Rev. Wilson, pastor of the Lane Church and the Rev. Robert Ridley conducted the services. Interment was in Dulaney Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ralph Braddy, W. G. Bruce, E. C. Lacy, E. E. Berry, H. L. Lewis, and N. D. Handley.
Flower girls were Bonnie Lytal, Inell Lytal, Mrs. Lola Childress, Mrs. Dewey Handley, Mrs. Ralph Braddy, Mrs. Frances Berry, and Mrs. Maude Berry.
Mrs. Sullivan was born at Dial, near Honey Grove, on February 20, 1886, the daughter of Chris Sears and Martha Ella Lane Sears. The family was one of the first in the community which bears its name. In 1900, the family moved to Celeste and then to the present home.
Mrs. Sullivan was a member of the Methodist Church, the Concord Bible Club, Lane Home Demonstration Club, and was an associate member of the Mayflower Club.
She is survived by a son, Von R. Arnold of McAllister, Oklahoma; a brother, John Lane Sears of Hugo, Oklahoma; a sister Mrs. Joe Seaman of Midland; a niece, Mrs. Iris McGee of Lane; a nephew, Jabo Sears of Torreon, Mexico; and other relatives.
