Thelma May Hackney, 86, of Greenville, died Friday at Greenville Health and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Coker-Mathews Chapel with Dr. Glenn Cook officiating. Private graveside services will be at Simmons Cemetery. Born in Greenville on June 6, 1919, she was the daughter of Alvin Campbell and Anna Tune Campbell. She married Glenn Hackney on Sept. 4, 1937 in Greenville. She was a homemaker and member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by son and his wife, Walter and Johnnie Hackney of Garland; son and his wife, Tommy and Charlene Hackney of Greenville; son and his wife, Charles and Linda Hackney of Greenville; daughter, Debra Hackney and husband Ray Inman of Fairfax, Va.; sister, Midgie Johnson of Santa Clarita, Calif.; sister, Beth Sorenson of San Marcos, Calif.; granddaughter and husband, Kristine and Ricky Garcia; grandson, Glen Hackney; granddaughter, Mary Hackney; grandson and his wife, Wade and Julie Hackney; granddaughter and husband, Cindy and David Dyke; grandson and his wife, Greg and Carrie Hackney; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Hackney in 1998, her father in 1974 and her mother in 1925. Visitation is scheduled from 6 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
