CADDO MILLS — Theodore Wayne McKenzie, 71, of Royse City died April 29, 2007, at his residence. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Rentfrow Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Eddie Singleton officiating. Burial is in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Caddo Mills.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Born March 23, 1936, in Owens, he was the son of Theodore Bowers and Alice Yandell McKenzie. He married Evelyn Kratky on July 29, 1996, in Rockwall.
Mr. McKenzie served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. He was a Dallas policeman. Following his retirement from the Dallas Police Department, he worked for Western Electric AT&T from 1981 to 1989.
Survivors are his wife of Royse City; a son, John McKenzie of Royse City; two daughters, Jeanie Zinke of Fort Worth and Kellye Wright of Fate; brother J.D.McKenzie of Royse City; sisters Bettye Tipton of Pecan Gap, Maxine Dugan of Weatherford, Eula Mae Smith of Granbury, and Billie Wilson of Garland; and six grandchildren with another on the way.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol McKenzie, on July 12, 1995; a brother, Bobby Jack McKenzie, on Sept. 13, 1989; and his parents.
