WOLFE CITY — Thomas Clarence Stanford Jr., 83, of Commerce died Sept. 17, 2006, at his home following a lengthy illness. Graveside services are at 10:30 a.m. today at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City with Rev. Johnny Henderson officiating. The son of Thomas Clarence and Viola Jones Stanford, he was born Aug. 27, 1923, in Wolfe City. On Nov. 7, 1943, he married Minnie Addyleen Moore in Commerce. Mr. Stanford was a veteran, serving during World War II. He was a foreman for a bag company and was a member of First Baptist Church in Commerce. Survivors are his wife; two sons, Tommy Stanford of Dallas and Derreck Stanford of Belton; three grandchildren, Thomas Stanford and Rachael Mendoza of Dallas and Brandi Reilly of Irving; three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Bethany and Thomas; and a sister, Marie Little of Greenville. His parents and one sister preceded him in death. R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home of Wolfe City is in charge of arrangements.
