Dora A. Thompson
Funeral services fro Mrs. John J. Thompson, 78, formerly of Celeste, who died Friday, April 23, 1954, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bob Huffaker in Bryan, were held at 4:30 PM, Saturday, April 24, 1954, at the First Baptist Church.
Services were conducted by the Rev. Earl Allen, pastor, and the Rev. Lemmie Jones of Tyler. Burial was made in Mount Carmel Cemetery (Celeste or Wolfe City?).
Pallbearers were Monroe Compton, Monroe Passons, Lawton Jones, Grady Evans, E. L. Cardwell, Celeste; Arlan West, Peniel; Sam West, Farmersville; and Lewis Jones, Port Arthur.
Mrs. Thompson, widow of the late John Thompson, was born in 1875. She made her home in Celeste for many years.
Surviving are three children, Johnny Thompson and Vince (Jefferson Vincent) Thompson, Dallas; and Mrs. Bob Huffaker, Bryan.
