WOLFE CITY - Velma Fay Fleming, 92, of Wolfe City, died Saturday morning at Smith Nursing Home. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Owens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Mitchell officiating. Burial will in Mount Carmel Cemetery
Born in Bailey, in Fannin County she was the daughter of Gus Scarbrough(sic) and Vonie Gipson(sic). She married Carleslie H. Fleming in Hugo, Okla., on May 7, 1938. He preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 1985. She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Commerce and was a retired teacher in the Dallas public schools.
She is survived by a daughter, Dianna Weiss and her husband Peter Weiss of Commerce; a grandson, Dr. David Weiss of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
