Virgil D. Tatum
Celeste--Funeral services for Virgil D. Tatum, 72, of Celeste, will be 2:00 PM, on Tuesday, January 1, 1974, in a Leonard funeral home with the Rev. Bob Layman officiating. Burial will be in Celeste Cemetery.
Mr. Tatum died at 9:30 PM, Sunday, December 31, 1973, in a Greenville hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born on October 22, 1901, in Celeste, he was the son of Thomas Tatum and Nanie Moore Tatum. He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Baptist Church.
He is survived by two brothers, E. Dan Tatum of Paris and W. H. Tatum of Guthrie, Oklahoma; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Armstrong of Celeste and Mrs. Cora Fielder of Tyler; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
