Virginia Rust Burton, 82, of Greenville died early in the morning on May 19, 2006, at Colonial Tender Care Unit. Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at Memoryland Memorial Park under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Bob Layman and Rev. Harry Ball will officiate. The daughter of Sidney Renford and Mertie Ione Stroman Rust, she was born April 19, 1924, in Floydada. On July 27, 1941, she was married to George Allen Burton. Mrs. Burton was a homemaker. She was a member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Alicia and Jim Weeks of Greenville and Patricia and David Grice of Garland; two grandsons, Jason “Tiger” Weeks of McKinney and Allen and wife Amy Grice of League City; and great-grandchildren Kyle Weeks and Conner Weeks of Greenville and Yancey Grice of League City. Her parents and her husband preceded her in death. Pallbearers are Jim Weeks, David Grice, Jason Weeks and Allen Grice.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
