Vonnie Faye Hovas King, 79, passed away on June 20, 2006, at Greenville Health and Rehab. She was born Feb. 7, 1927, in Inverness, Miss., to Percy Carl and Lora Mae Dewett Hovas. Faye will be remembered by all who knew her as a loving mother and a good friend. Her wonderful sense of humor delighted all who came in contact with her. She worked as a secretary for the City of Greenville for several years. She was an excellent seamstress, making many beautiful wedding gowns. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Billye and Leonard Veak of Greenville; two sisters, Floyce Collins of Kilmichael, Miss., and Joyce Sanders of Madison, Miss.; a brother, D.D. Hovas of Kilmichael, Miss., and wife Ruth; grandsons John Lee Hudiburgh and Jeff Ott; and a granddaughter, Holly Taylor. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park under the direction of Peters Funeral Home. A memorial service is at a later date at the Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Kilmichael, Miss.
