Walter L. Lewis
Walter L. Lewis, 82, a retired grocer died at 4:00 AM, Monday, at home. The native of Cherokee, Georgia, he was a member of the Celeste Methodist Church where services were conducted by the Rev. V. H. Arnold and the Rev. Earl Allen. Interment was made at Forest Park Cemetery in Greenville with James-Coker-Peters Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Survivors were his wife; sons, H. L. Lewis of Pasadena, California; C. E. Lewis of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; and Charles Howard Lewis of Celeste; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. (August 25, 1953, The Greenville Morning Herald)
