COMMERCE — Wanda Lee Greer, 80, of Commerce died May 26, 2006, in Dallas. A graveside service is scheduled at 10 a.m. today at Memoryland Memorial Park in Greenville with Brother Jeff Bishop officiating. Born in Dec. 1, 1925, in Greenville, she was the daughter of Roy C. and Minnie Jenkins Abbott. She was married to Kenneth Greer in 1945 in Hunt County. Mrs. Greer attended East Texas State University. She retired from Raytheon with 35 years’ service where she did booking, technical drafting and was top secret librarian. Wanda loved the Lord with all her heart and her neighbor as herself. She was very kind hearted and loved deeply; she treated people like her father. She always made people welcome and was not judgmental. She was very talented, was an artist and did oil painting, quilting and ceramics. She was also smart, lots of fun, witty and big hearted, honest and trustworthy. She was a member of Cross Trails Church. Surviving are a daughter, Linda McGatlin of Commerce; a son, Mark Greer and wife Rita of Greenville; grandchildren Misty L. Madewell, Joshua A. Madewell, Clinton S. Greer, Jason Greer, James M.P. Greer, Barbara L.P. Greer, J. Lindy S. Greer and Amberly D. Greer; great-grandchildren Trenton B. Madewell, Kristine D. Madewell, Hollie M. Greer, Hunter Greer, Trace Grisby, Marquis Greer, Aaron Greer, Chase Greer, Brandon Greer, Noah Greer, Joshua Greer, Christian Greer, Alyssa Greer, Mathew Greer and Alex Greer; three sisters, Willna Strickland of Tuscon, Ariz., Juanita Jackson of Coleman and Darris Peairson of Tyler; and a brother, Derwood Abbott of Henderson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two children, Kenneth Roy Greer and Tracy Morris Greer; one grandchild, Shane Greer; and one brother, Wayne Abbott. Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home of Commerce is in charge of arrangements.
