COMMERCE — Weldon “Butch” Sneed, 64, of Wolfe City died Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, at his residence. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home chapel with Brothers Kerry Miller and Harry Ball officiating. Burial is in Old Klondike Cemetery.
Mr. Sneed was born Sept. 24, 1942, in Vasco; the son of Fred and Pearl McCarty Sneed. He married Faye Morton on Aug. 14, 1965, in Paris, Texas.
Mr. Sneed was a retired lineman and electrician with Texas Power & Light. He served in the U.S. Army and enhoyed working crossword puzzles, fishing and riding in his golf cart with his dogs.
Surviving are his wife of Wolfe City; children, Amy Leaton and husband Jeff of Carrollton and Rodney Sneed and wife Sonja of Commerce; grandchildren, Clint Sneed and Caitlin Sneed of Commerce; sisters, Edna Mahler and husband Charles of Dallas, Eddie Sneed of Cookville and Cathy White and husband Kerry of Cookville; brothers, Harold Sneed and wife Valerie of Florida and Kent Sneed of Paris; and brothers- and sisters-in-law, Ginny and Cliff Brackeen of Irving, George Morton, Ronnie and Mary Morton, James and Patty Morton and Gary and Cindy Morton, all of Paris.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers are Jeff Leaton, Keith Sneed, Brent White, Jason Morton, John Sartin and Aaron Sartin. Honorary pallbearers are Dan Kessler, Roger Kizer, Robert Collinsworth, L.I. Swinson, John Avery, Danny Gardner and George Wright Jr.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
