Floyd E. White
Funeral services were held at the Leonard Baptist Church at 3:00 PM, Friday, November 23, 1951, for Floyd E. White, 43, Fannin County native and former resident of Celeste who died Wednesday, November 21, 1951, in a Fort Worth hospital of burns received in an auto crash on Armistice Day, which took the lives of his wife and twelve year old son, Marion Dene White.
The Rev. J. A. Lawdermilk of Fort Worth officiated. Interment was in Burns Cemetery near Trenton, under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home of Leonard.
Mr. White was born on January 19, 1908, in Fannin County, a song of Reno Alos White and Myrtle Smalley White. His father was originally from Sweetwater, Tennessee and his mother was a Fannin County native. He was married to Ruby Lee Williams on March 19, 1933. He was a member of the Baptist Church at Hickory Creek.
Survivors are one son, Gene White, a twin to the wreck victim; his parents; eight sisters, Mrs. Audra Davis of Leonard, Mrs. Betty Walker of Sherman, Mrs. Mildred Cairo of Garland, Mrs. Thelma Carmon of McKinney, Mrs. Evelyn Cathey and Mrs. Annie Record of Bonham, Mrs. Dorothy Borchardt of Garland, and Mrs. Ella Mae Burns of Greenville; three brothers, Homer White of Pasadena, California, Wayland White and R. A. White, Jr., of Garland.
