Services Today For A. T. Haywood
94, longtime resident of Wolfe City, died at his home in Wolfe City Monday at 2 p.m. He had been ill for two days.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Owens Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Webb Hill Cemetery, the Rev. E.G. Nelson, retired minister and the Rev. James H. Westbrook of Sulphur Springs will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Leon Denney, Tom B. Denney, Lloyd Denney, Vaughn Page, Roy Payne and Guy McCaslin: He was born Feb. .14. 1869 in Piggott, .Ark; the son of Wesley Haywood and Lina Wilson Haywood. He .came toTexas in 1892 and had resided in .Wolfe City since that; time.
He married Mary Ann Denney, Dec. 25, 1895. She preceded him in death in 1960. A son also preceded him in death in 1939.
Surviving are five sons; Jennings of Ft. Worth, Curtis and Fletcher, both of Wolfe City, Grady of Arlington, and Floyd of Dallas; one daughter, Mrs. Gertrude McClellon of Commerce; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; one half sister, Mrs. Abby Gregory of Piggott, Ark.
