Graveside services for Durrell "Shorty" Everett, 74, of Greenville, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Webb Hill Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Mitchell officiating. He died Saturday at the Veterans Administration Center in Bonham.
Born in Greenville on April 29, 1925, he was the son of Ruben and Zuma F. Williams Everett. He was a veteran of World War II and was retired.
He is survived by friends Richard Sampson of Celeste and Robert Rudd Jr. of Greenville; sister-in-law Angie Everett of Wolfe City; nieces and nephews Larry Everett, Karen Foster, Terry Everett and Alissa Farley; two great-nephews and two great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lealand E. Everett.
R. W. Owens and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
