James DeFee "Jake" Lowry Jr., 66, of Keller died Saturday at North Richland Hills. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at Coker-Mathews Funeral home Chapel with Rev. Bill Reisor officiating. Burial is in Webb Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Lowry was born Nov. 8, 1932, in the White Rock community; the son of James DeFee and Nattie Byrd Lowry Sr. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a retired quality control engineer for Raytheon.
A former Greenville resident, Mr. Lowry was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greenville and an avid golfer at Oak Creek Country Club.
Surviving are a daughter, Janea Lowry of Keller; a grandson, Austin Lowry; brother and sister-in-law, William F. and Frankie Lowry of Bells; and a sister and brother-in-law, Nita and Bill Reisor of Greenville.
He was preceded in death by his father on June 8, 1983, and his mother on Nov. 10, 1983.
Pallbearers are Jimmy Green, Gary Reisor, Robert Lowry, Ronnie Tidwell, William F. Lowry II, Richard Hester, Gregory Reisor and Reginald Martin.
