Local Woman's Sister Dies, Services Here
Mrs. Willie Shanks Lemons, 63, died at 10:30 PM, Wednesday, at her home in
Euless, Texas. She was the daughter of H. B. (Doc) Shanks and was born at
White rock on July 13, 1895.
Funeral services were held in the Celeste Methodist Church at 2:30 PM,
Friday, with Dr. Harrison Baker, Wolfe city, Rev. Albert Click, and Rev.
Wyatt Bradberry officiating. Burials was in the Webb Hill Cemetery. Nephews
were pallbearers.
She was married to John M. Lemons in 1939 and he preceded her in death in
1954. Mrs. Lemons ha been a member of the Methodist Church for many years.
She had lived in Hunt County until three years ago.
Survivors include one son, I. B. Reavis, Hurst, Texas; two granddaughters;
three sisters, Mrs. C. A. Ross, Celeste, Mrs. Ruby Nall, Greenville, and Mrs.
R. E. Newman, Fort Worth; four brothers, C. O. Shanks, Peniel, Walter Shanks,
White Rock, F. A. Shanks, Woodson, and H. B. Shanks, Pecos. (September 5,
