to PVinson47Georage Harris { Part of Hardin's Gang} Patsy,
My name is Joy Boatright McKelroy. I am wondering if you can direct me in a search regarding a newspaper article in The Galveston Daily News dated May 25,1877. This is in regards to the death of William Beard and two of his male companions. There was a warrant on Beard. Beard was killed by Posse and the other two were arrested named Harris and Gaston (sixteen) years old. One of the women of the Beard party said Beard was one of John Wesley Hardins right bowers. So my question is, is there a way to find out more information on the arrest of Harris. I have not been able to find where they belonged to Hardins gang. Beard was a ancestor married to my half second great Aunt. The Harris might be her sisters husband, George HARRIS. Do you have anywhere I might get more information on this incident?
Thanks for any help you can direct me in.

Hi Patsy
SO great to hear from you and thank-you for replying to my emailing. I wish I had more information on him but sadly I haven't found all that much. All I know is this;
Robert Paris Duncan Jr was born on the 10th December
1916, in Kaufman, Kaufman County Texas, USA to parents Robert P and Cora Mae
Duncan. He also had one older sister,
Cora L Duncan, as well as another sister that died as an infant, Patricia
Duncan passing on the 1st March 1914.Major Robert Paris Duncan was buried within the confines of the Townsville War Cemetery until his remains were exhumed and buried within the confines of the Ipswich Military Cemetery on the 16th July 1945. His remains were then exhumed after the war to his final resting place in Kaufman, Texas USA.
Major Robert P. Duncan is laid to rest within the confines of the Kaufman Cemetery, Kaufman,
Kaufman County Texas, USA
Thank you so much for trying to help me in my research. I will also take your advice and send further messages ot the people you have stated.

Hello Patsy,I was hoping you could give me more information about this cemetery in Kaufman County, TX. I was referred to you by Lynda White.
I am not sure where it is.... I found a blog post from someone who went there, but they did not give any type of address or location.
My 4x-great-grandmother is buried here (Martha Reagan), and I have been looking for this for years!
Thank you for any help you can provide!
Best regards,

Jun 15, 2015Hope you are well.
My grandmother Martina Trevino is buried in the Kaufman Poor Farm. Her grave does have a marker, however we have been told by my Aunt who has since passed away that there are two of her siblings buried in the same cemetery that Martina is buried in which is the Poor Farm in Kaufman. I have reviewed the website and did not find their names listed in the records. One of the siblings is Gonzalo Trevino 1930, Epifanio Trevino 1931 and the other is Marcela Trevino 1932. These children were said to have died shortly after birth. These birth dates are unconfirmed to this date. Do you have any other records of infants being buried with no markers on the graves? Supposedly they were buried on either side of the gate at the entrance of the cemetery. I do not remember there being a gate around the cemetery when we brought the headstone for Martina many, many years ago. That being said, I also do not know if when they made the cemetery a Historical site of they added the fence or if it was original. Also, we would like to add a flat gravestone under the current headstone for Martina, is this something that the historical society would allow? If so who do I need to contact for permission?
Thanking you in advance,
Cecilia Oakley

May 8, 2015In Forney to research two family line on my mothers side = Thomas Harrison Arnold and James Campbell Arnold - both lived in Forney in the late 1800's. I have been working with Kendall Milton @ the Spellman Museum as of late!
However, the available detail going back to those folks seems to end at Hill Crest cemetery and with the deaths of my great aunt Carrie Ann, Campbell, Mullinax in the early 1980's,
Am in town until Saturday,
Have left an email message with Kaufman Historical today and will be out and about around here trying to piece together my Forney story,
I would love to touch base with you regarding this process. You can reach me several ways:

Hi,I am working on my family's genealogy and may have a connection with Kauffman County, TX. My great grandfathers brother John Benjamin Hawkins or Benjamin John Hawkins supposedly died in 1906 in Hunt County TX according to my grandmother. I can not find this death in Hunt County but did see a Ben Hawkins who died in 1906 in Kauffman County. This may not be who I'm looking for but I would like to get a copy of his death cert to determine this. Could you let me know how I would go about doing this?
Note: Thanks for replying. I went on Familysearch and found the Ben Hawkins that died in 1906 in Kaufman County was born in 1854. My Ben was born in 1834 so not match. You saved me $20.

Which county are you looking at? I have Hill and Kaufman counties that I am webmaster of. I would suggest that you contact the Hill County Crossroads Gen. Soc. as they have volunteers that can help you. I don't have any for the website right now. Hopefully, I can obtain some in the near future. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~txhcgs/No response to my last email.
Hope this helps.

My gr-gr grandfather, Samuel B. Myers served in the 13th Militia Brigade, Pct. No. 6, Texas State Guard
during the Civil War.
Would you perhaps have anything relating to him at this time. He was living in Dallas County, near
Lancaster, Texas in 1960 and this outfit I believe was organized near Scyene Road.
Thanks and Merry Christmas.

Bob,
I went to GenealogyBank.com and got the two pdf below. The CA Myers was interesting and I thought you might enjoy reading it.
You can also go to: www.fold3.com which is a new military site and you can sign on for 7 days free and then it cost to continue, but in 7 days you can probably find what you need. Also in Carrollton was a Rev. John Myers who died in 1911 at age of 71 years funeral at home of Mrs. Margaret Fanning, 3301 Bryan St., Dallas. Service at Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Service by: Rev. J. S. Conner.I don't know if this will help or not. you can go to the national archives.gov and search their files for free.
