Service Records of Company C of the 15th Texas Cavalry
by Justin M. Sanders
Men who were likely Kaufman County residents are marked with a star "", and evidence of their residence is given from census, indigent soldiers lists, and marriage records. The abstract gives the name, rank, and when available the age, date and place of enlistment (the abbreviation 25 Feb, D, means "enlisted 25 Feb 1862 at Dallas"). Those men for whom only names are given are taken from the list given by McCaffrey but for some reason were not abstracted (either this abstracter overlooked them or concluded that they were not members of Co. C). For these, reference should be made to the microfilmed service records.-- Justin M. Sanders
