I am trying to find out information on my great grandparents. They are both buried in Wilsons Chapel Cemetery in Kaufman, TX. Naomie CUNNINGHAM DEAN died July 14, 1910 and John Thomas DEAN died July 1916. I believe John Thomas Dean's father may be CR Dean who died March 18, 1902. I found his name by Johns in a farm account book where they had listed all their children too. I think they either lived in Kaufman or Scurry. Both were mentioned in the farm account book.DUNCAN, NOBLE, SMITH posted by Shawn Duncan on Tuesday, July 15, 1997

Kaufman County, Texas censuses for 1860 and 1870 show a J. M. WATKINS. Is this the same J. M. WATKINS that lived in Llano County Texas in 1880?? My Great Grandmother, Mary L. WATKINS married Jack (aka Harrom Jackson) FULLEN in 1875 ( with my Grandmother Mary Elizabeth FULLEN being born in April 1876; place unknown. She later married my Grandfather Henry Albert (nickname Buster) WINDHAM, in Limestone Co Texas in 1898) . In 1880, my Great Grandmother Mary l Watkins (b. 1857 in TX. Their father was b. in KY and their mother was b. in MO), with her husband Jack, and daughter Frances Elizabeth, AKA Lizzie, age 3 or 4, was living with her brother J. M. WATKINS (b. 1853 TX) and his wife Mahaila; in Llano County Texas. Are these watkins families related?? I would appreciated any information on the Kaufman County WATKINS famlies of 1860 and 1870. I have been searching for my Greatgrand parents for a year, after it took 8 years to finally locate my Grandmother, due to illegiblity of family Bible records; that has been lost. I am seeking info on FLEETWOOD, H. which can pinpoint his time of arriving in Kaufman County. In the 1880 Federal Census of Kaufman County, there is an H. FLEETWOOD household having Izette, William, Nancy, Maud, and Robt. E.. H. FLEETWOOD, b.1842, has the occupation "Farming", and is listed as coming from Louisiana. "H" I believe is for "Hatton". Looking back, in the 1860 Texas Census there is an H.R. FLEETWOOD listed as residing in Kaufman County. My questions are: Is H.R. in the 1860 census the same person as H. in the 1880 census? If H. is a farmer, when did he obtain his land? My stretch goal is to tie him to Alexander Hardey FLEETWOOD b.1849, also from Louisiana - maybe sons of Alexander Hatton FLEETWOOD, b.1804, England? I have a good amount of info on the A.H. FLEETWOOD line, but not much is relevant to Kaufman County. "Izette" I believe is Emma Izetta LONG, b.1840 to W.D.A.M LONG and Nancy ALBRIGHT. I have a fair amount on this part of the LONG line if anybody is interested in it. Thanks in Advance for Your Time,BYNUM, COOK, FREY, SHEHORN, SMITH posted by Joe Nelson on Tuesday, August 26, 1997
