Funeral services for Frank Joe Berger, age 91 of Madisonville formerly of North
Zulch, are set for 2 pm., Friday, January 2, at the Willowhole Chapel in North
Zulch. Rev. Joel Strickland will officiate. Burial will follow in Willowhole
Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Donald Clute, David Grimmer, David H. Grimmer,
Kerry Burkett, Shane Holdridge and Lonnie Green.
Visitation will be from 1 pm to 3 pm on Thursday at the funeral home and from 10 am to service time Friday at Willowhole Chapel. Madisonville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Berger was born on November 12, 1917 in Brazos County to Joe & Alice Berger and passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2008, at the St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. He grew up in the Edge area, he lived most of his life in North Zulch and moved to Madisonville in 1999.
Mr. Berger worked as a heavy equipment operator in construction for 42 years. He helped build many of the streets in Bryan. Mr. Berger was a member and a deacon of the Free Will Baptist Church in North Zulch.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wilmer Berger and a brother, John Berger.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Toni Henry of Madisonville and many nieces and nephews.
The family request that memorials be made to the American Heart Association or the Cancer Fund.
