Lucille Welch – died 7 April 2009 – Walters Funeral Home

Funeral services for Lucille Welch, age 87, of Clifton and formerly Leon County will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, April 9, 2009 at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. Tuffy Loftin will officiate the service and interment will follow in the New Salem Cemetery. Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas is in charge of all arrangements.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at with the family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas.

Lucille Welch was born on January 18, 1922 in Centerville, Texas to George & Jeanette (Wood) Parker. Most of her life was spent in Leon County where she attended the Baptist and Pentecostal Churches. Lucille worked as a waitress at Campbell’s Café, also known as the Bus Station Cafe. It is now known as Town Café. She also worked in the dietary department of the Leisure Lodge Nursing Home. Lucille spent the rest of her time taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2009 in Clifton, Texas. Lucille is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank Welch in 1989; daughter, Alicia Ann; sisters, Docia Sutton and Jack Culp and brother, Henry Parker.

Survivors include son, Johnny Welch and wife, Brenda of Centerville; daughters, Frances Thornton and husband, Truman of Clifton and Nancy Watson and husband, Hardy of Centerville; brother, Lawrence Parker of Golden, Colorado; sister, Laura Clark of Moscow, Idaho; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and one on the way.
