Hogan Cemetery

This cemetery is southeast of Groesbeck on FM 937 near the Box Church community. The sign is on the south side of FM 937. The cemetery is fenced and well maintained.

Quoting from a letter written by Judge Norton Fox, September 19, 1975

"There is a grave-no marker-at Hogan Cemetery of a man that has some early history, and his name is Robert (Bob) Clendennan. He is the man who was killed by the Negro outlaw, Merrick Tramble. If I have it right, Bob had gone out to arrest Tramble, and Tramble shot and killed Bob. Tramble lived out at Springfield. He had a cave below the Navasota River bridge. He would hide in
this when things got rough. I think Tramble is credited with killing several people."
