From Kathryn Griggs Whaley's memory:
Wm. L. Griggs and T. J. Oliver married sisters, Catherine and Aline Peeples, and owned jointly the Oliver and Griggs Bank in Mexia.  Later they purchased one in Dallas which became the Fourth National Bank.  After the death of William, Grandmother Catherine purchased the two story building across the street from Neiman-Marcus which I inherited after th death of Aunt Mary Griggs Leedom.  (My mother, Kathryn, was the only offspring of this family!-CWV) Later Catherine sold the family home which became the site of the first Hockaday School for Girls. (Haven't been able to prove this!-CWV)
