NOTES: A History of Limestone County, Walter, Ray A. Austin, 1959, pg 90 "Mexia was the home of the first bank in the county. Early in the seventies Thomas J. Oliver and W. H. Richardson organized the Oliver and Richardson Company. Richardson...relinquished his rights to W. L. Griggs, and Oliver and GRIGGS was established. Oliver and Griggs moved to Dallas in 1882."
