Mrs. Black was born at Lovelady in Walker County on March 12, 1872, and had lived in the Tehuacana Valley for the past 66 years. Widow of the late G.D. Black, she was a member of the Methodist Church. She is survived by seven sons, Lee, Dee, John, and Elijah Black, all of Mexia; Dan Black, Mart; Allen Black, Teague; and George Black, Houston; and four daughters as follows: Mrs. Cecil McDonald, Shiloh; Mrs. Jack Kelly, Houston; Mrs. Irene Ellis, Sweeney; and Mrs. Cleonia Campbell, Fairfield. Also surviving is a brother, Almer Hall, of Midway; 24 grand-children, and 23 great-grand-children. |
