Obitury Notice Unknown Date

On Monday afternoon at the Mexia Cemetary was laid to rest, until the resurrection Morn, the body of Little Grace-Sterling Pruitt, the child wife of J.T. Pruitt, who lives near Shiloh. On Aug. 24, 1908, Grace Sterling became the wife of J.T. Pruitt and died at their home near Shiloh at 3: 20 am monday morning Feb 15, 1909.

Aged 16 years, 1 month, and 3 days. She died in the full possession of all her faculties and the end was approaching she called her husband and the others whom she loved to her bedside and kissed them a loving farwell and the sweet smile that lit up her face even after death showed that her way through the valley and the shadow was made radiant by the smiles of him who said: "I am the Resurrection and the Light." She bore her sufferings with a patience and fortitude that comes only from a trust in the promises of a kind and loving father. Though she had taken on herself the responsibiities of a wife, she died the same sweet and innocent little girl she had always been. She was too pure, too sensitive, too trusting, for the hard and unwielding realities of life and God has taken her to himself, where peace and love and happiness will be hers through the endless cycles of eternity.

Our hearts go out in sympathy to those who knew her best and loved her most, but we know and they know, that their loss has been nothing more than the transplanting of the spirit of little Grace from our earthly home to one not made of hands eternal with God where they may join her never more to part
