ACT OF JUNE 27TH, 1890.

On the date hereinafter mentioned, personally appeared before me, a Notary Public within and for the
County and State aforesaid, Sarah E. Flanigan aged 52 years, a resident of the State of Texas County of
Mason, State of Texas, who, being duly sworn according to law, declares that she is the widow of Andrew
P. Flanigan who enlisted under the name of Andrew P. Flanagin at <blank> on the 24th day of April A. D.
1864, in Co G. 1st Cav. Regt. Alabama Vols and served at least ninety days in the late war of the Rebellion,
who was HONORABLY DISCHARGED October 20, 1865 and died Jan 12, 1899. That she was married
under the name of Sarah E. Sanders to said A. P. Flanigan on the 3rd day of June 1866, by G. W. Lillie, at
Larkinsville Alabama, there being no legal barrier to such marriage not having formerly married no former
marriage. That she has not remarried since the death of the said Andrew P. Flanigan. That she is without
sufficient means of support other than her daily labor. That the names and dates of birth of all the children
now living under sixteen years of age of the soldier (or sailor) are as follows: <blank> That no prior
application for pension has been filed. That she makes this declaration for the purpose of being placed on
the pension roll of the United States under the provisions of the Act of June 27, 1890. She hereby appoints,
with power of substitution, MILO B. STEVENS & CO., of WASHINGTON, D. C. their successors or legal
representatives, her true and lawful attorneys to prosecute her claim and receive a fee of Ten Dollars. That
her post office address is Fredonia, County of Mason, State of Texas.

DECLARATION FOR WIDOW'S PENSION.

STATE OF Texas, COUNTY OF Mason, ss.

On this 20th day of February, A. D. one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine, personally appeared
before me, a Notary Public within and for the County and State aforesaid, Sarah E. Flanagin aged 52
years, a resident of Fredonia, County of Mason, State of Texas, who, being duly sworn according to law,
makes the following declaration in order to obtain pension under the provisions of the act of Congress
approved June 27, 1890.
That she is the widow of Andrew P. Flanagin who was enrolled under the name of Andrew P. Flanagin
at <blank> on the 24th day of April A. D. 1864, as a Private in Co. G. 1st Regt. Ala. Vol. Cav. and
honorably discharged October 20th, 1865, having served ninety days or more during the late war of the
rebellion. That the soldier was <blank> in the military or naval service of the United States except as stated
above.
That she was married under the name of Sarah E. Sanders to said soldier at Larkinsville, Ala on the 3rd
day of June 1866, by G. W. Lillie; that there was no legal barrier to such marriage; that she had not been
previously married; that the soldier had not been previously married.
That the said soldier died January 12th, 1899, at Fredonia; that she was not divorced from him; that she
has not remarried since his death; and that she is without other means of support than her daily labor.
That the said soldier left the following-named children who are now living and under sixteen years of
age, to wit: <blank>.
That she has not heretofore applied for pension.
That she hereby appoints Milo B. Sevens & Co. of Washington, D. C., her true and lawful attorneys to
prosecute this claim.
That her post-office address is Fredonia, County of Mason, State of Texas.

In the pension claim of widow, Sarah E. Flanagin widow of Andrew P. Flanagin Soldier 1st Ala. Vol.
Cav. personally came before me, a Notary Public in and for aforesaid County and State, Dr. F. M. Crume,
a resident of Fredonia of the County of Mason, State of Texas, who, being duly sworn, declares in relation
to the aforesaid case as follows:
I was the attending physician at the time of the above-named soldier's death. He died on the 12 day of
January, 1899. The immediate cause of his death was gallstones and inflammation of the stomach and
bowels.
I have been practicing medicine for 4 years. I first knew the soldier about Apr. 15, 1898. I first treated him
professionally about December 25, 1898, and I also treated him through the entire attack of his illness. He
died about Jan. 12. He died of gallstone & inflammation of the stomach & bowels.

My post-office address is F. M. Crume, M. D. Fredonia, Texas.
And I further declare that I have no interest in said case, and am not concerned in its prosecution.

Flanagin and Andrew P. Flanagin were married together in the year 1866 and that from such acquaintance I
know that neither of them had been previously married to any one else Sarah E. Flanagin's maiden name
was Sarah E. Sanders and I know from long and intimate acquaintance with them that they both lived
together as man and wife up to the time of his death and that they have never been divorced and I also
know that she has never married since his death and I further declair that I have no interest in said Claim
and am not concerned in its prosecution.

47 years, who, being duly sworn declared in relation to the aforesaid claim as follows.
I was personally acquainted with Sarah E. Flanagin from her infancy and have been acquainted with her
ever since and have been acquainted with Andrew P. Flanagan since the year 1864 up to the time of his
death in January 1899. That they the said Sarah E. Flanagan and Andrew P. Flanagan were married
together in the year 1866 and that from such acquaintance I know that neither of them had been previously
married to any one else. Sarah E. Flanagan's maiden name was Sarah E. Sanders and I know from long
and intimate acquaintance with them that they both lived together as man and wife up to the time of his
death and that they have never been divorced and I also know that she has never married since his death.
And I further declare that I have no interest in said claim and am not concerned in its prosecution.

As to matter of Real Estate there has never been any Disposed of, and that neither of the Claimant or
husband have been previously married have formerly sent Affidavit to that effect.

Application for Accrued Pension (WIDOWS)

State of Texas, County of Mason, SS:
ON THIS 20th day of February, 1899, personally appeared Sarah E. Flanigan, who, being duly sworn,
declares, declares that she is the lawful widow of Andrew P. Flanigan, deceased; that he died on the 12 day
of January, 1899; that he had been granted a pension by Certificate No. 684050 which is herewith returned
(if not, state why not) that he had been paid the pension by the Pension Agent at Knoxville, Tenn. up to the
4th day of November, 1898; after which date he had not been employed or paid in the Army, Navy or
Marine service of the United States, except <blank>; that she was married to the said Andrew P. Flanigan
on the 3rd day of June A. D., 1866, at Larkinsville, in the State of Alabama; that her name before said
marriage was Sarah E. Sanders that she had not been previously married; that her husband had not been
previously married; that she hereby makes application for the pension which had accrued on the aforesaid
Certificate to the date of death and she hereby appoints Milo B. Stevens & Co. of WASHINGTON, D. C.
her lawful Attorneys in the matter, and her Post Office address is Fredonia.

Also personally appeared S. D. Flanagin, residing at Fredonia and M. E. Flanagin residing at Fredonia,
who, being duly sworn say that they were present and saw Sarah E. Flanigan sign her name (or make her
mark) to the foregoing declaration; that they know her to be the lawful widow of Andrew P. Flanigan, who
died on the 12th day of January, 1899, and that their means of knowledge that said parties were husband and
wife, and that the husband died on said date, are as follows: they having known them as such for 27 years
and for 5 years Respectively.
