Welcome

Maverick County is in the southern region of Texas and shares its western border with the Mexican state of Coahuila and its county seat is Eagle Pass. The county was created in 1856 from Kenedy County and organized in 1871. It is named for Samuel Maverick, cattleman and state legislator.
