COLORADO CITY ~~ James W. "Jay" Adams, Jr., 69, of Colorado City died at 6:20 a. m. Friday in Root Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the First Christian Church.

The Rev. Jim Hill, pastor, assisted by Glenn Roenfeldt, pastor of First Baptist Church and Rev. Bob Ford, pastor of First United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Colorado City Cemetery, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.

Born December 28, 1907, in Batesville, Mr. Adams married Pauline Roberts February 14, 1930, in Fort Worth. They moved to Colorado City in 1956 from Anson. He was a Chevrolet dealer in Colorado City for 21 years. Mr. Adams was a member of the First Christian Church and Masonic Lodge. He was also ans Army Major in World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Joe "Vicki" Weaver of Colorado City; a son, Jay Boy Adams of Lubbock; a sister, Mrs. Zula Simmons of Fort Worth; a brother, W. R.
