COLORADO CITY ~ T. Edd Conaway, 59, Colorado City school bus driver, died early
Tuesday morning in Root Hospital here following an illness of a few days.
A resident of Colorado City, he was born April 15, 1899 in Mitchell County and
had lived in the county all of his life.
He farmed for a number of years and had been a school bus driver for the past
several years.
Mr. Conaway was married to Ivy Walker on September 14, 1919 in Colorado City. He
was a member and a deacon of the First Baptist Church here.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church. The Rev.
J.F. Selcraig, pastor, will officiate, assisted by W.H. Burkham, minister of the
5th. and Elm Street Church of Christ. Burial will be in the Colorado City
Cemetery under the direction of Kiker and Son Funeral Home.
Survivors are his wife; his mother, Mrs. J.A. Conaway of Abilene; two sons,
Phillip of Colorado City and John of Odessa; one daughter, Mrs. Gerry Johnson of
New Orleans, Louisiana; four brothers, Alfred, Dennis and O.R. Conaway, all of
Abilene and Otha Conaway of Westbrook; two sisters, Mrs. Jewel Sufphen of Cisco,
and Mrs. Clora Haller of Abilene.
