Mrs. Minnie Mae Hollis, 94, a longtime resident of Sweetwater died at 8 a.m.
Sunday at Holiday Retirement Center after an extended illness.
Services were at 2 p.m. today in McCoy Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Dan
Burrow, pastor of West Side Baptist Church and the Rev. Orvel Brantley, pastor
of Lamar Street Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Sweetwater Cemetery.
Born May 31, 1884, in Callahan County she married Benjamin Franklin Hollis
there Oct. 4, 1899. He died in 1950.
Mrs. Hollis had been a member of the West Side Baptist Church since 1936.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Ruby Daniel of Sweetwater; a son, Ernest
Hollis of Sweetwater; a sister, Amber Sanders of Tulia; 14 grandchildren; 35
great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.
