Local historian and County Surveyor Don Austin has visited this site and reported that all traces of the cemetery have been obliterated. The surname "Welaton" does not appear on any of the early Panola County census records, but, since the cemetery is located just barely south of the Harrison County line, the Welatons may have been residents of that county.
