The marriage records of Panola County appear to be intact from the issuance of the first marriage license on September 6, 1846 until the present time. These records are available to researchers in the County Clerk's Office, Panola County Courthouse, Carthage TX on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Marsha Ivey has devoted many hours to copying the entries from Marriage Books A-I and has published them in book form. Her book contains 9,595 licenses spanning the time period from September 6, 1846 through December 3, 1912. A 33 page Surname Index assists researchers in finding entries.
