Honeycutt Cemetery, 24 Jul 1891,"This
cemetery is located in the southeast quadrant of Red River County,
Texas. GPS COORDINATES: Datum WGS84: 33 Deg 32.757N, 94 Deg 49.213W.
From FAMILY GROUP SHEET in RRCo TX Library which was taken from
the Family Bible belonging to Greenberry R. Honeycutt: Greenberry
came to RRCo TX between 1850 1860, married in RRCo TX, acquired
land near the Savannah Community area and farmed there all of
their lives. A family cemetery was established on the farm and
all the Honeycutt family are buried there. The cemetery is west
of Avery on FM 1701. It is behind a large ranch house and needs
fencing and taking care of. The oldest marker was for Janie Wilburn
who died on 24 Jul 1891. This cemetery was surveyed by Lawrence
and Sue Dale on 1 May 2000 with a total of 4 markers still there.
There is evidence of other burials. We again visited with owner
Ron Cooper on 27 Dec 2003 and took the GPS Coordinates."
